Microtech 2013: Showcasing Micro-Assembly

March 21, 2013

This year’s flagship IMAPS-UK event was a success.  Held at TWI in Cambridge, there were plenty of networking opportunities for the 100 attendants and exhibiting companies, including Inseto, DDTEK, OpTek Systems, Kyocera, Telexsus, Tecan Ltd and Optocap; and high-impact talks on the three themes of the day:

  • UK manufacturing, with contributions from Nick Mair of Ultra Electronics, Ian Sturland of BAE Systems and Shaun Mason for Tecan;
  • Medical electronics and packaging, with contributions from Giles Simon of CEI-Leti and Tony Winster of Henkel;
  • Failure Analysis, with contributions from Ian Mayes of Nordson Dage, Stewart McCracken of MCS and John Flynn of DDtek.
  • Our fourth session was dedicated to academic research, with 8 short talks showcasing research open for industrial collaboration.
