Research to Industry event registration open

July 3, 2015

Registration to our annual Research to Industry event, R2I, is now open!

You will find more information on the event, and a write-up of previous editions, on our website:  This year’s keynotes will focus on the support available to bridge the gap that still often exists between academic research and industry.  We have four fantastic speakers: Nigel Rix from the KTN on support available from the government; Dr Lucy Wheeler from the Royal Academy of Engineering, who will talk about the funding available for academics to undertake a period of research within a company; Dr Marc Desmulier from Heriot Watt who will talk about Centres for Doctoral Training and how the industry can share in academic research through joint PhD studentships, and Dr Stuart Calverley, from Magnomatics, on the process of spinning-out a company from a university research lab.
