Deadline extended for abstracts for our Research to Industry conference.

July 24, 2015

The deadline to submit abstracts for our Research to Industry Conference has been extended until the 31st of July.
With 4 keynotes focused on funding translational research, and an industrial audience looking to attract new talents or discovered new technologies, this is THE EVENT to attend to increase your research’s impact, advertise your centre’s facilities and find industrial collaborators.

Thanks to the support of the KTN, IMAPS-UK and the University of Sheffield, the event this year is free to attend, register here as attendance is limited.  To take part with a poster or a high-impact presentation, send your abstract to office@imaps.org.uk by July the 30th.

You will find more information on the event, and a write-up of previous editions, on our website: http://uk.imapseurope.org/  This year’s keynotes will focus on the support available to bridge the gap that still often exists between academic research and industry.  We have four fantastic speakers: Nigel Rix from the KTN on support available from the government; Dr Lucy Wheeler from the Royal Academy of Engineering, who will talk about the funding available for academics to undertake a period of research within a company; Dr Keith Brown, Director of the CDT in Embedded Intelligence at Heriot-Watt University who will talk about Centres for Doctoral Training and how the industry can share in academic research through joint PhD studentships, and Dr Stuart Calverley, from Magnomatics, on the process of spinning-out a company from a university research lab.
